Gypsum City OHV Park

Friday, September 30, 2016

Alt Names

Webster County, Des Moines River, Fort Dodge

Last Known StatusOpen

Once an old mining area, this property is now open to ATVs and dirt bikes. The park has about 15 miles of woods trails, several motocross tracks including a 1.5 mile main track, a safety training area, beginners area and ample parking. The park is roughly 300 acres however there are plans to expand to 1500 acres.

Overnight parking is currently not permitted but there are plans to add a campground which should be completed by Spring 2016. The campground will have 33 sites, each with water and electric hookups, BBQ grills and picnic tables. Other amenities that will be added are restroom and shower facilities, dump station and a park office.

The trails are generally open daily but may close temporarily during and after bad weather, so call or check the Iowa DNR park status page before heading out.
