Trail PhotoIf you are coming to Reno to ride, this place is not to be overlooked.  Moonrocks is more popular, but this place is more fun with more interesting scenery and views of the nearby Truckee River.  What makes it fun is the wide variety of terrain, with trails that wind through sand and desert sage, teeter along the mountain ridges, and tunnel deep into the woods.  Many of the woods trails are single track (and we mean 18 inches wide), and the rest are perfect for ATVs.  Note that some of the wooded areas don't thaw until late May or even June.  This is listed as a Nevada riding area because it is so near to Reno, however large portions of the area are in California, including the recommended staging area, so be sure to get a California OHMVR sticker.
