| DESCRIPTION |
This set of forest roads is for day use only and is best explored by 4x4, ATV or bicycle. There are no actual motorcycle trails, but the scenic forest roads make it a decent place for beginners. There is a popular hiking trail but all motorized use is restricted to the forest roads. Entrance and parking is free, and there are plenty of parking areas with shade, as well as a paved staging area. The roads are mostly tame, with a couple of small water crossings. Trail Map... From: Reno, NV
1) Take 395 to Hwy 431 west (Mt. Rose Hwy)
2) Continue west about 5 miles on Mt. Rose Hwy
3) Turn right on N. Timberline Dr., continue about 1 mile (just keep going straight past all of the houses)
4) Veer right at kiosk sign after you cross the bridge, continue .1 miles.
5) Paved staging area is on the left. |
