Aberdeen Motocross Track

This track is generally available for practice daily, except the Thursday and Friday before a race weekend. Membership is required, and fees are about $50 for individuals and $75 for families and are good from January 1 through December 31.

Located on the outskirts of Pierre, this track is generally open for practice Monday through Friday in the evenings from 5pm to dusk and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to dusk. There is a main track and a peewee track available for riding, and 50cc riders can ride free with a membership. For the most current practice schedules and race information contact the Central South Dakota Racing Association or visit the track website.

Located in Sturgis, the Jackpine Gypsies motorcycle club is one of the oldest AMA clubs around and offers its members a flat track, motocross track and challenging hillclimbs that are situated on 40 acres. Overnight camping is generally not permitted. During the month of August the club hosts numerous events during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

This area offers 400 acres of hilly grassland terrain perfect for dirt bikes and ATVs. While there are no designated trails the boundaries are marked off. There is a nearby motocross track that is open to the public and is open to both ATVs and motorcycles. Hiking, camping and boating opportunities are also close by.

This new OHV park opened in June 2007 and offers a one-mile long trail that resembles a motocross track. Picnic tables, shelters, horseshoe pits, volleyball court and a playground can also be found here. This area is open during day use hours only, however camping opportunities are close by which offer electric hookups and restroom/shower facilities.

This is an often groomed and watered track available to the public for practice seven days a week. The admission fee is $5.00 and track ammenities include restrooms and a bike wash. The track is located nine miles west of Yankton of Hwy 52. Seed website for the most current visitor information.

This dirt bike club offers a motocross track, short track and some hare scramble trails to enjoy. You must be a member to gain access to the property, which runs in the neighborhood of $175 per year. Also not that members are asked to volunteer at a minimum of two events during the year, or pay an extra $50 per event not worked.

Talsmas Trail Park

Open during weekends and by appointment during weekdays, this park is located on a Hereford cattle ranch and offers miles of multiuse trails that wind through beautiful grasslands and offers scenic views of the Missouri River. Overnight camping is allowed for those who purchase two-day rides. This camping can currently be done in the parking area, but a designated campground is in the works. There are several vault toilets on site but no other amenities. Not that the fees are currently cash only.
