| DESCRIPTION |
Over 1400 acres of small sand dunes ranging from 25 to 75 feet can be explored at this state park. The western and northwestern section has the tallest sand dunes known as "Competition Hill" and "Buttercup". There are multiple staging points with RV hookups and showers. A dump station can be found at the southeastern section of the dunes across the highway. The area can be windy and is prone to tornados. Some sandy trails can be found in the center area that wind through yucca and cottonwood trees. Whip flags are mandatory and must be at least 10 feet tall.

1) Take I-40 west to exit 108, about 40 miles
2) Turn right (north) off the exit ramp onto US-281, continue 25.2 miles
3) Turn left (west) onto US-270, continue towards the town of Seiling, about 37 miles
4) Continue about .5 miles north through the town
5) Veer right onto US-281 (US-60), continue about 30 miles.
