Poplar Lick Trail System

Monday, July 11, 2016

Alt Names

Popular Lick ORV, Poplar Lick Trail System, Savage River State Forest, Poplar Lick Run, Horse Ridge, Jenkins Hill

Last Known StatusClosed

This area at one time offered about six miles of multiple-use trails but are now permanently closed to motorized use with no plans to reopen. The trails are still open for hiking, horseback riding and mountain bike use. Primitive campsites can be found at various points along the trail. The trails are usually damp with loose rocks and they follow a river with several stream crossings. Call before you haul as this system occasionally gets flooded.
