| DESCRIPTION |
Located on Ambrose Lake with boating and fishing access, this campground offers rustic lake front camping in addition to direct access to the state forest motorized trails. The campground has about 19 primitive sites and most will accommodate 40 foot vehicle/trailer. There are no RV hookups but the camp does have vault toilets and potable water from a hand pumped well. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only, with no reservations. There are about 23 miles of woods trails open to vehicles under 50 inches wide.

Campground Temporarily Closed For Construction
The contractor at Ambrose Lake SFCG in Ogemaw County is now working in the back campground loop. The new front loop is being outfitted with new picnic tables and fire rings. Ambrose Lake SFCG will remain closed until the finishing touches can be completed on the front campground loop. (Although the campground is closed, the trails remain open.)
