Located in northern Nevada, this area offers rugged terrain, panoramic mountain views plus camping, hiking trails and excellent fishing. OHV use is permitted on existing roads but there are no designated ATV trails.

Dispersed camping is permitted throughout the area but Onion Valley Reservoir offers a semi-primitive campground with six sites, each with a picnic table, fire pit plus two vault toilets. There is no charge for camping but sites are on a first come, first serve basis.

4WD and high clearance vehicles are highly recommended for this trip since the main entrance road is narrow and rocky. The area is usually only accessible during the summer since winter usually brings heavy snowfall and ice accumulations. For current road conditions contact the Winnemucca District Office at (775) 623-1500.
