This small park features some short trails, mud holes, some play areas, a clay flat track, and a motocross track. 4x4s, go-karts, snowmobiles, mountain bikes, ATV’s and motorcycles are allowed. Located on a once active naval industrial plant, this area offers several tracks and sand pits however it is currently only open to those who know the owner. This family friendly area offers about 5 miles of ATV trails that wind through a deep woods forest and gently rolling farm fields. Parking can be found adjacent to Kelley’s Sport Shop. TrailPass membership is required.

Membership applications must be submitted in person, which can be done at the Carney’s Restaurant on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30pm or at a club event. Carriageway motocross track in Westerlo, NY is still in the construction phase. When it opens, the owners plan to allow both motorcycles and ATVs on the track and are also considering developing a Sno-Cross area for snowmobiles in the winter. Built on a farm, this is a top notch MX track that has been holding race events for over 30 years. The track has a concrete starting pad and consists of dark, loamy soil with grassy infields. Onsite amenities include ample parking, concession stand and cold shower facilities. Quads are not allowed. A Metropolitan Sports Committee membership is required, and the cost is about $25/person or $35 at the gate.

Located on Long Island, this property offers three tracks for all skill levels including a beginner track, main MX / ATV track, and a supercross track. Track is open daily from 10am to sunset and membership is required which ranges from $1,000/person or $1,500 per family per year. Beginners riding lessons are also available upon request and are $30/hour. While in the area, you can visit nearby Lake Ronkonkoma if you dare. Local legends say it has been haunted ever since the drowning of an Indian princess.

This national style track hosted AMA District 4 races and had numerous uphill and downhill sections plus panoramic spectator views. The track is currently closed.

Numerous marked woods trails with deep-water crossings and muddy sections can be found at this ATV park. The surrounding hilltops offer scenic views and occasional music concerts are sometime held at the park. There is a 25mph speed limit and 3-wheelers are not allowed. This area offers about 20 miles of marked and rated woods trails, grassy meadows, play pits and beautiful forest scenery that are open daily from 9am to dusk. Quads, motorcycles and UTV’s are permitted. A NYTRO membership is required to ride the trails and is $25/person/year or $35/family/year. Nearby Lake Demmon Recreation Area offers a full service campground along with direct trail access.

The main motocross track here has a starting gate, big triples and tabletops with nice berms. There is also a pee-wee track. ATVs are not permitted and overnight parking is allowed however campfires and tents are not allowed. Quite hours begin at 9pm.

This park features a supercross track, a very unique natural terrain track, a pee wee track and a 3 mile long harescramble loop. This is a large park with green grassy surroundings, trees, and sloping hills. This tracks are normally open for practice on Saturdays and Sundays from late March through late October. The park is open during select dates from 10am to dusk and offers about 1 mile of trail that winds through a dense forest and a flat field for beginners. This groomed natural terrain motocross track is 1.3 miles long and has a starting gate, doubles, triples, step ups and table tops. Track is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am to dark. Yearly memberships are required, and are valid from November 1 through October 31.

Open to the public, this track is open for practice on Wednesdays from 4pm to dark from between mid April through mid September. Park consists of a 1.2 mile long loamy track with a concrete starting pad, stadiumcross track and night track. While there is no ocean nearby, the name comes from a local who once stood on top of a flat section of a slate quarry and looked down at the hills below and saw low floating clouds resembling frozen ocean waves.

Owned and maintained by the Palmyra Racing Association, this area has a 3-mile long motocross track and a peewee track called “Piggyback Hill” plus a surrounding hare scramble course. Club membership must be purchased before accessing the area, and only club members are permitted to ride on tracks and trails. Located on Long Island in NY, this motocross track is open to quads and also has a peewee track with some surrounding woods trails. This 1.25 mile natural terrain motocross track surrounded by forest scenery. The track is a mixture of sandy and rocky soil with doubles, triples, downhills and a starting gate. Track is groom and watered and admission is $8.00. Overnight parking is allowed.

Designed for the experienced rider, this trail consists of tight woods sections, steep hillclimbs, sharp switchbacks and a stairstep section. The top of the trail offers panoramic views of the valley below. Driving directions can only be obtained by joining TrailPass, Tri County ATV Association or a reciprocal club. The trail is closed seasonally during winter months.

Geared toward the more experienced rider, this trail offers steep switchbacks, large rocks and loose gravel. Small engines and beginner riders are not recommended. Currently the main staging area is located at the Mt. Kenyon Family Campground and there is a fee charged for parking. A new trailhead is in the works and should be completed in spring 2010.

Based out of New Jersey, this motorcycle club has been around since 1969 and hosts several enduro and harescramble events throughout the year. The club has 135-acre property located in Deposit, New York which is open to members only. Club meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month at Shupes Firehouse Pub. Initiation fee is around $250 and annual dues are about $50.

This OHV friendly park offers a pee-wee track, public motocross track with moderate jumps, mud bogs, a amazing enough a 4-mile long enduro style trail loop with spotters to assist with tricky sections. All trails are one way and well marked. Amenities include a restaurant, gift-shop and an free campground ($20.00 for hookups). Firewood is included free of charge and alcohol is prohibited during daylight hours.

Open daily from dawn to dusk, this area offers miles of ATV and motorcycle trails as well as a beginners course and motocross track. The perimeter trail is similar to a harescramble course which has a creek crossing. Scenic hiking, mountain bike and snowshoeing trails are also available (weather permitting). The property also features a 30-acre field that overlooks the valley of the Susquehanna River. Onsite amenities include a picnic area, stocked pond with Koi fish a museum and camping facilities.

TrailPass members get in for just $5 however they are not sold onsite. Camping is permitted for around $10 and electric sites are available for about $15. The facility is closed to ATV riding during the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Motorcycles are not permitted on the trails.
