Print...This abandoned strip mine consists of about 20 miles of trails, steep hill climbs, deep pits and three motocross tracks. One track is for beginners and novices and one very challenging track is known as "Gravity Cavity". The park is open year round but will close temporarily during and after bad weather or heavy rainfall. Riding is allowed from dawn to dusk and primitive camping is permitted. There is no fee required to ride or camp, but all vehicles must display an Iowa OHV sticker. Print...Once an old mining area, this property is now open to ATVs and dirt bikes. The park has about 15 miles of woods trails, several motocross tracks including a 1.5 mile main track, a safety training area, beginners area and ample parking. The park is roughly 300 acres however there are plans to expand to 1500 acres. Camping is currently not permitted however there are plans to add a campground in the future. An Iowa DNR Sticker is required on each OHV and can be purchased at nearby Racing Unlimited. The park is generally open daily year-round but may close temporarily during and after bad weather. Print...This 125 acre riding area offers about 10 miles of woods trails, a tot lot and a practice track. The trails consist mainly of dirt and rock and wind with the flow of the land through the trees and along the shores of Rathbun Lake. Park amenities include a vault toilet, two shelters with picnic tables, an unloading/loading dock, and a water faucet that is available April through November. Camping is not permitted at the OHV park itself however the lake has several full service campgrounds. ATVs, dirt bikes and side by sides are permitted as long as they have a current Iowa registration. The park is open year round except during the spring thaw and after heavy precipitation. For current park status, call (515) 281-8385. Club and additional park information can be found on the South Central Dirt Riders Facebook page. Ride For Rescue Thunder in the Bluffs Hosted By the United States ATV Search And Rescue A poker run and rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, May 25 near Glenwood, Iowa. The event kicks off at the Mid America Motorplex at 7:30am and will take riders through several towns. The ride is over 50 miles long and will consists of mostly dirt roads.
