Cinders Team Race

Hosted By Arizona Offroad Promotions

Article and Photos by Scott Spinning (August 2025)

Arizona Offroad Promotions held a four-hour team race at Cinders OHV Park just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. Teams rode a nine-mile course that wound through the Ponderosa Forest and volcanic grinding. Cinders OHV Park is a multiple vehicle use park, from motorcycles to sand rails and beyond.

Natural to the area, the volcanic grindings are like riding in the sand dunes. It is hard on the tires and can wear out a set of tires rather quickly. Also hard on the tires are tree roots. Some are exposed while others are hidden beneath the grindings.

The most laps rode, were by Team Sportsman Cycle, out of Henderson, Nevada, at seventeen laps. There were two Ironman categories, Expert and Sportsman. The top three riders rode thirteen laps. These people were tired riding about one-hundred and seventeen miles.

The next team race will happen in mid-September, in Cottonwood, Arizona. To keep up with the race event for AZOP, visit their website azopracing.com. To see more photos from the event, visit my link.
