Other Names

Coconino National Forest, Flagstaff Ranger District, Janice Place Trailhead, Iron Springs Trailhead

Last Known StatusOpen

This part of the Coconino National Forest offers about seven miles of motorized trails that are open to dirt bikes, ATVs and UTVs. Currently the only entrance that can accommodate the larger machines is at Iron Springs but there are plans to eventually widen the cattle guard entrance at Janice Place.

The trails are mostly hardpacked and and form nice, easy loops that wind wind through a mixed pine tree forest. Camping is not permitted at the staging area but is allowed off of Forest Roads 240 or 78A.

The trails close seasonally to offroad use during the winter months but generally re-opens around April or May, weather permitting.
