This large recreation area offers 22 square miles of public land that consists of smooth and fast single track to rugged ATV and 4x4 trails.

There are several staging areas but the 'Base Area' located on the eastern segment has gravel parking and restrooms. The Motorcycle Terrain Park is located on the western segment of the recreation area which has single track trails and a motocross track to practice on.

There are no fees but machines must display a current Colorado OHV Sticker. There is no water or shade so bring your own.

2) Turn left (south) onto County Road 32, continue 1.6 miles
3) McCabe Staging Area is on the left

For Motorcycle Terrain Park Staging Area:
4) Continue past McCabe Staging Area (veer slight left onto County Road 32B), continue .3 miles
5) Staging area is on the left (north).

For Base Area Staging Area:
6) From Gunnison take County Road 38/Gold Basin Road south about 4 miles
7) Staging area is on the right (west).
