Alt Names

Carson National Forest, Questa Ranger District, Goose Lake, Red River, Gold Hill Trail

Last Known StatusOpen

This 4x4 road is a little over seven miles long each way and eventually ends at Goose Lake. This trail starts out fairly smooth and easy but becomes more rugged and difficult the closer you get towards the lake.

The lake has an outhouse and a few primitive campsites (tent only). Fishing is permitted but a New Mexico fishing license is required. During the winter months this trail can be impassable but is open to cross country skiers and snowshoeing. Snowmobiles are not permitted.
