This part of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest offers about 16 miles of narrow trails. This trail system has no designated staging area but is accessible by adjacent forest service roads.

Camping can be found at Moss Springs Campground but there is no direct trail access. The trail system can be reached by traveling about 5 miles north of the campground on Forest Service Road 6220. The trails and campground are usually snowed in until mid June so check with the ranger station before heading out.

1) Take SR-237 (Cove Highway) east about 13 miles
2) Turn left (south) onto French Street, continue .1 miles
3) Veer left (east) onto Hill Street, continue .2 miles
4) Veer right (south) onto 2nd Street, continue about 1 mile
5) Road name changes to Mill Creek Road, continue 1.5 miles
6) Road name changes to Forest Road 6220, continue about 8 miles toward the campground entrance.

*Note: The last six miles of Forest Road 6220 are steep and narrow. Large trailers are not recommended.
